Note: This is not to make any allegations about the company mentioned. It is intended as a fandom shout out and warning.Aside from
arlessiar,
forlornhope42 and myself, is there anyone else out there on the f-list who has bought, or knows someone who has bought, tickets from Wolf recently who has also been a victim of credit/debit card fraud?
(I know
arlessiar has a few other names in her post, and others who replied who knew people who'd had problems since buying tickets for MTH or P4.)I ask because there seems to be a growing group of people who have been done over like this whose only connection is having bought Meet the Hewletts or Pegasus Four tickets...
If you did buy tickets, I would urge you to have a check of your card and bank statements for anything out of the ordinary...
EDITS:
May 30th @ 02:26 - I went ahead and sent
this email to Wolf. I'll let you know what they come back with.
@ 09:11 - We're up to around 20 people including the extras mentioned in comments.
@ 11:02 -
Link to a post on Wolf's boards regarding this issue.@ 17:34 - Wolfadmin2 deletes the above detailed post and responds with
this message.
June 1st @ 18:10 - I'm taking a little break from replying to this. I will get to any new comments made over the course of the next day or so, though it seems a few people are watching this entry and will assist where necessary. I'm hoping there will be a downturn in new reports anyway - for everyone's sake.
Also, there are reports that Wolf have sent out emails to customers advising them to check their card / bank statements. I've not received one yet, however I did get a reply to my email that I send to them:
Hi Beanie,
Thank you for your email.
We have been looking into the situation. Most forms of credit card fraud are ATM & Retail skimming not internet.
We have only had 2 people who have contacted us in the last 2 months about possible card misuse. Based on this we have ordered a review of security and are currently only taking phone bookings. As most fans who attend our events do share may other community sites it could even be possible that some people have downloaded or installed spyware or keyloggers.
Thank you for contacting us and be assured we will continue to do everything to protect our customers.
Regards,
Wolf
With the concept of Keyloggers in mind, malware scanning is recommended for all - virus and spyware. Also, a recommendation from
SG-P - anti-keylogger software, such as
Key Scrambler Personal.
June 2nd @ 11:40 - The following via email from Wolf:
The Wolf Events website will be down for upgrades at some point in the next 72 hours.
Make of this what you will.
